Wrestling Bout This Evening Between Roeber and Atlas Without Time Limit

New Haven, Feb. 11. – The question which all the people who were at the Grand opera house last evening were asking themselves and each other as they were leaving the house was, Is it a fake? The evidently thought that it was not a fake, for there was a line of them in front of the box window after the performances waiting to buy seats. It was the general opinion that if it was a fake, it was the cleverest bit of acting that has ever been seen on any stage in this city.

All this discussion was over the wrestling bout between Ernest Roeber and Prof. James Atlas of Boston. As a matter of fact, it is stated that Atlas has been following Roeber’s show for some time in the endeavor to get a match with him to a finish. In this he was successful, for last evening a match was arranged for to-night, when the two men will come together in a wrestling match to a finish for the championship of the world. All holds and falls will be allowed. Heretofore Roeber has barred the strangling hold and the flying and rolling falls.

Last evening the main bout was between Roeber and Atlas, and was limited to 15 minutes. It resulted in a draw. This evening there will be no time limit, but the bout will be continued until one or the other gets a fall.
