NO DANGER THAT IT WILL BE FAKED
The Wrestling Match in Wheelmen Hall Monday Evening Between Cristol and Gelder Will be Strictly on the Square
Originally Published In The Daily Nevada State Journal, (Reno, NV), November 4, 1903.
The notice in last night's Gazette and signed by Mr. Thyes is incorrect. No circulars have been distributed advertising a wrestling match to take place in Wheelmen hall on November 5. Two were put out and immediately taken up.
The match is to come off on Monday evening, November 9, Mr. Gelder having just telegraphed his acceptance of the above date.
So many have said that this match is to be a fake, that the principals have determined to ask the crowd on the night of the match to appoint three judges and if any sign of a fake appear the gate receipts are to be given to some charity.
Again, if any man is satisfied that he has witnessed a fake match, his money will be returned at the door.
This is a fair proposition and will be made good.
Articles of agreement have been signed and Wheelman hall has been engaged.
This match is in no way under the auspices of the Wheelman club. It will be held in their hall and that is all. The admission price is 50c. Come and you will see no fake.
