CHICAGO, Oct. 27 – The bond of William Demetral, the Greek wrestler arrested Saturday on a charge of conspiracy, was fixed at $8000 today in the criminal court.
Demetral is charged by William A Schmidt, a photographer, with defrauding him of $4000 by means of a fake wrestling match in Toldeo, Ohio September 1. Assistant States attorney Murphy said that a syndicate of fake sporting event swindlers with headquarters in Chicago had made $200,000 by fraud recently.
